Josef Zilch:
Variations over a Bavarian Zwiefachen
for flute, oboe, clarinet in B, horn in F, and
bassoon
“Originated in variation over a Bavarian Zwiefachen” for caper orchestras to
1988, takes approx. 12 minutes and is from easy to middle degree of difficulty.
As basis for the popular and cheerful variations a piece from Zilchs serves
homeland: “The Zwiefache”. This popular piece of people is characterized
by a refined change rhythm, which the composer brings distorted and vertrackt to
application. The available version for Bläserquintett was provided
by Klaus Obermayer. In this occupation the crude ironical basic tenor of the
text put to reason becomes effective particularly well.

Duration: ca. 12 minutes, moderately severe
